Rescuing homeless and unwanted animals in the worst areas of NYC
In 2015, NYCARG's founder, Alicia, could not help but notice a colony of feral cats near home in Harlem. As the daughter of an animal rescuer, she felt compelled to do something. With experience in trapping, she took to the streets and removed all 20 of them from the dangerous conditions. She got them fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV/Felv, etc.) and worked tirelessly to find them excellent foster and forever homes. A few are still with her today. Little did Alicia know, that would be the birth of New York City Animal Rescue Girls. What started as a small operation has quickly evolved.
Since its founding, NYCARG has rescued more than 1,000 homeless and/or unwanted animals and placed them into foster and forever homes.

Many are never reported as lost, some end up in shelters, many others end up starving and dying in the streets.
